USAID/Sweden FARMA II visited women-entrepreneurs for Day of Rural Women

The hosts of the visit were Alma Čamdžić from "AlmaDerm" and Mejra Halilović from "Halilović"

On the occasion of October 15th, International Day of Rural Women, USAID/Sweden FARMA II visited two companies-beneficiaries. These are producers and processors of medicinal herbs "AlmaDerm" and "Halilović". First we have visited plantations of medicinal herbs "Halilović" in the Nisici Plateau, where we met Mejra Halilovic, who shared her experience in working in the private sector, starting a business, changing direction and starting production in Ilijas, and later on spreading to Nisici. After that, in Kladanj we had the opportunity to talk with Alma Čamdžić, which is focused on the production of cosmetics based on medicinal herbs. Alma spoke about the support of the USAID/Sweden FARMA II and the challenges of ensuring customer confidence - both in Sarajevo and through participation in the international markets. In the next few weeks, "AlmaDerm" is preparing exports to the United Arab Emirates. The stories of Alma and Meira are an inspiration for women entrepreneurs across Bosnia and Herzegovina who are thinking about step forward in the business sector.
