Good news from the 2019 statistical survey

In 2019, the poultry sector achieved exports worth BAM 48 million, while imports amounted BAM 39 million, and this sector recorded a surplus of BAM 9 million – as per the analyses of the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber (FTC BiH) and Sweden/USAID FARMA II project. During the presentation of foreign trade results for this sector held today at the FTC BiH, it was emphasized that the export-import ratio was 123 percent.

- BiH exporters managed to increase exports to Serbia, Northern Macedonia and Montenegro by a total of BAM 5.7 million, but this year, due to the cessation of exports to Kosovo, finally resulted in a 12 percent drop in exports (BAM 6.5 million), with almost unchanged imports – stated Mr. Feđa Begović, Deputy Chief of Party at Sweden/USAID FARMA II.
Secretary of the Food Industry Association of FTC BiH, Ms. Tijana Muhamedagić reminded that last year, after the Brussels approval for the export of poultry from BiH, the first shipments were exported to the EU market. The first export was to Germany, but the best result was achieved in the market of the neighboring Croatia, where the value of exports in just a few months exceeded the amount of BAM 600,000.
Mr.  Nedžad Biberović, Director of Exports at Akova, said that this company is ready for the EU market, and that they have already exported the first quantities to Sweden.
