The presentation was delivered at the conference on Agriculture and Rural Development in the function of Sustainable Development. The problems in the agricultural and rural development, energy efficiency and the sustainable development were recognized as crucial for the EU accession process.

The representatives of USAID/Sweden FARMA II project, in cooperation with USAID EIA project (Energy Investment Activity), participated at the conference on Agriculture and Rural Development in the function of Sustainable Development, organized by the Green Council association at the premises of Burch International University in Ilidza. Over 70 professionals participated at this conference.

On behalf of the project, Midhat Glavić, Dairy and Poultry sector lead, delivered the presentation on: "Following Nitrate Directive Principles; Opportunities for Sustainable Energy Usage in Agriculture." The Nitrates Directive protects water quality in the EU by preventing agricultural nitrates pollution and promoting good farming practices.

The director of Economic Development Office of USAID BiH, Mr. Thomas Rojas, also addressed the audience.
