New training sessions held in Banja Luka and Tuzla

USAID/Sweden FARMA II has organized new training sessions in Banja Luka and Tuzla for farmers on use of information technology. All participants agreed that sales in the agricultural sector in BiH need innovation, especially in a one-to-one relationship with customers in the local market.

“In the segment of communications in the local market, small producers often face challenges in finding an adequate sales venue. It is hard to get into larger malls, sometimes we don't even have production that can keep up with that kind of demand. However, what is always a good foundation for growth and development is sales through direct communication with a potential buyer and that is where all the tools available need to be utilized,” said one of the participants in the training session in Banja Luka.

The program focused on online marketing, preparation of visuals and communication with customers.

"We talked about social networks, the importance of proper use of online communication channels. It is extremely important to adjust the way we talk about new media so that it is easy for all users and training participants to accept it and use it. Sales through online tools is becoming an increasingly common way for agricultural sellers to reach buyers. And this is something that small producers recognize. Now it is important that they use their knowledge and take a step forward towards the market,” concluded USAID/Sweden FARMA II project.
