The program also included a lecture on Good Animal Welfare in Dairy Production, as well as the visit to one dairy farm with 300 cows.

The USAID/Sweden FARMA II project, in coordination with the Associations of Dairy Farmers from the RS and FBiH, and the Association of Poultry Producers of FBiH and the RS, organized a visit for 25 poultry and dairy producers from BiH to the Agra Fair held in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia. These farmers had an opportunity to learn about new technologies and innovations in agricultural equipment and mechanization. This year Hungary was the partner country, with national and regional presentations given by many other countries.

In addition to visiting the fair, the program also included a lecture on Good Animal Welfare in Dairy Production, as well as the visit to one dairy farm with 300 cows, where the farmers could learn about the ways to improve milk yields. The average milk yield per cow at this farm is 8,000 liters per year, while the national statistical average in Bosnia and Herzegovina is less than half of that quantity. The owner of this farm also shared his experiences about getting the EU funds to co-finance his dairy farm, and building a biogas facility on his farm.
