USAID BiH Country Mission Director Peter Duffy took part in the conference and talked about the realized activities of the USAID/Sweden FARMA II

The Food Safety Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of USAID/Sweden FARMA II, marked the International Food Safety Day in Mostar. The aim of this event was raising public awareness about the importance of the healthy and quality food consumption. The meeting was opened by the panel introduction speakers: the Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister Mirko Sarovic, the Food Safety Agency Director Dzemil Hajric, the Federal Minister of Trade Zlatan Vujanovic, the RS Assistant Minister of Agriculture Miroslav Bojic, the USAID Country Mission Director Peter Duffy and the representative of EU Delegation Maja Dosenovic. Mission Director Duffy said that food safety is not only important in order to preserve the health of all consumers but also to demonstrate Bosnia and Herzegovina's credibility for export to foreign markets. "Our support through the USAID/Sweden FARMA II project included the assistance in drafting of food storage protocols, training of inspectors. Additionally, in two years we have helped 36 companies and 425 small producers to obtain the international food quality certificates," added Duffy.
